compacts or intergovernmental agreements
are the most difficult to find. The library's
online catalog provides access to numerous
compacts (links provided if online). See
tips to the right.
To find materials about drafting compacts --
Begin at Tribal Law Drafting.
Tribal-state
relations documents [cooperative agreements] - (National Congress of
American Indians). The largest online collection of intergovernmental agreements
between tribes and states related
to law enforcement, taxation, human services, sovereignty, and gaming.
Some states post compacts
to the web sites of the appropriate department.
Some tribes post tribal compacts to their web sites. Use
the Tribal
Code & Constitution
Directory -- the A-Z List to identify
tribal web sites to search. Or use a search engine to search the web.
