CHAPTER 48
OGLALA SIOUX TRIBAL FIREWORKS CODE
THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED that the sale of fireworks upon the Pine Ridge
Indian Reservation shall be legally permitted from June 22, 1993 at
8:00 a.m. and shall expire on July 6, 1993 at 11:00a.m., and
FURTHER ORDAINED that the sale of fireworks upon the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation can only be done by a person, organization; corporation, individual, business or any other entity; who has purchased a permit from the Oglala Sioux Tribal Tax Office, and
FURTHER ORDAINED that the purchase of the Fireworks Permit shall be mandatory, and the permit shall be a separate and distinct permit. That is if a person, corporation, organization, individual, business or other entity has a business permit, they must also obtain a Fireworks Permit, in order to legally sell fireworks upon the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, and
FURTHER ORDAINED that a Fireworks Permit shall be issued upon the payment to the Oglala Sioux Tribal Revenue Office of $250.00 for non-members of the Oglala Sioux Tribe and $50.00 for members of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, and
FURTHER ORDAINED that the purchase of the Fireworks Permit is required to pay any and all applicable Oglala Sioux Tribal taxes, including, but not limited to, Oglala Sioux Tribe Retail Sale Tax, and
FURTHER ORDAINED that a deposit of $250.00 shall be required at the time of purchase of a Fireworks Permit. Deposit will be refunded when the sales tax of 4% is reported and remitted to the Oglala Sioux Tribe. Deposit will be forfeited, if sales tax is not reported within thirty (30) days of the expiration of the Fireworks Permit.
