CSV.1.3.010 Title to Wild Animals, Wild Rice, and Miscellaneous Forest Products

(a) The legal title to, and the custody and protection of, all miscellaneous forest products, wild rice, and wild animals within the reservation is vested in the Tribe for the purposes of regulating members' use, disposition and conservation thereof.

(b) The legal title to any such miscellaneous forest product, wild rice, or wild animal, or carcass or part thereof, taken or reduced to possession in violation of this ordinance remains with the Tribe; and the title to any such miscellaneous forest product, wild rice, or wild animal, or carcass or part thereof, lawfully acquired, is subject to the condition that upon the violation of this ordinance relating to the possession, use, giving, sale, barter or transportation of such miscellaneous forest product, wild rice, or wild animal, or carcass or part thereof, by the holder of such title, the same shall revert, as a result of the violation to the Tribe. In either case, any such miscellaneous forest product, wild rice, or wild animal, or carcass or part thereof, may be seized forthwith, wherever found, by the tribal conservation department or any law enforcement official authorized to enforce the provisions of this ordinance.
