Resolution No. 056-03 — Elder/Youth License

WHEREAS, The Stockbridge-Munsee Community, Band of Mohican Indians, is a federally recognized Indian tribe governed by the Stockbridge-Munsee Tribal Council pursuant to authority vested in the Council by a Constitution approved in November 1937; and

WHEREAS, The Stockbridge-Munsee Community has the authority under its constitution and its inherent rights as a sovereign nation to adopt and amend Ordinances; and,

WHEREAS, The Stockbridge-Munsee Community adopted Chapter 65 Elder/Youth License Ordinance on September 7, 1999; and,

WHEREAS, The Stockbridge-Munsee Community amended Chapter 65 Elder/Youth License on March 21, 2000 and November 19, 2002; and,

WHEREAS, The Stockbridge-Munsee Community desires to amend Chapter 65.9 in order to clarify the procedures for Human Resources to follow and to clarify the person's rights if an Elder/Youth License is suspended and/or revoked.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Stockbridge-Munsee Tribal Council hereby amends Chapter 65.9 by adding Sections 65.9(B)(1), 65.9(B)(1)(a), 65.9(B)(1)(b), and 65.9(B)(2).
