Resolution No. 016-26
WHEREAS, The Stockbridge-Munsee Community is a federally recognized Indian tribe with inherent sovereign powers and is governed by the Stockbridge-Munsee Tribal Council pursuant to the 1937 Constitution, as amended;
WHEREAS, The Stockbridge-Munsee Community has the authority under its Constitution and its inherent rights as a sovereign nation to adopt and amend Ordinances;
WHEREAS, The Tribal Council has adopted a Forestry Ordinance, ENV.02, which was amended in April 2025; and
WHEREAS, An additional amendment to the Forestry Ordinance has been proposed that modifies Section ENV.02.10, Forest Activities by Waters, to more clearly identify riparian management zones around the different types of waters on the reservation.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Stockbridge-Munsee Tribal Council hereby adopts revisions to Section ENV.02.10 of the Forestry Ordinance.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the authorizes the submittal of the amended ordinance to the Bureau of Indian Affairs for approval.
