The Council hereby finds and declares that: (a) The Pueblo has the authority to undertake the formation of a housing authority; and (b) The Council enacted a law to establish the San Ildefonso Housing Authority (SIHA); and (c) Under the authority of the Native American Housing Assistance and Self Determination Act of 1996 (NAHASDA), Indian tribes may designate existing Indian Housing Authorities as a TDHE to provide and administer approved Indian housing activities.Pueblo de San Ildefonso Code.
