13.07.050 Qualifications. Chief Judge

To become a candidate for an elected position, a person must:

(a) Be an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians; and

(b) Be twenty-five years of age or older; and

(c) Have not been convicted of a felony; and

(d) Have not been convicted of a misdemeanor of fraud, embezzlement, forgery or thefts of monies entrusted to the Tribal Government; and

(e) Must reside within Rolette County; and

(f) Must have a minimum of a 4-year degree in legal studies or 4 years experience as a Tribal Judge; and

(g) Must not have been impeached from judicial office for a period of five (5) years prior to the election; and

(h) Furnish written proof for all requirements.
