18.05.010 Purposes and Definition

(a) The purpose of this chapter is to secure the safety and well being of the children residing on the reservation or within Indian country who are under the supervision of a childcare center. This purpose shall be achieved by establishing standards for the licensure and regulation of all childcare centers operating within the jurisdiction of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians.

(b) Definitions:

(1) "Child Care Center" means an early childhood facility where early childhood services are provided to four (4) or more children for a fee.

(2) "Parent" as used for the purposes of this chapter only, means the natural parent, step-parent, grandparents, or legal guardian or temporary or permanent custodian of a minor child.
