A civil case is started by filing a written complaint or service of a summons on the defendant or defendants. Such summons must state where the complaint is, or is to be, filed. Upon the demand of the defendant at the place named in the summons, the plaintiff shall file the complaint within twenty (20) days.Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians Tribal Code.
