37.05.040 Procedures for Filing Civil Petitions for Protection Orders

(a) No filing fees shall be required for filing a petition nor shall a bond be required to obtain relief under this chapter.

(b) The Petitioner, or the victim on whose behalf a petition has been filed, is not required to file for annulment, separation or divorce as a prerequisite to obtaining a Protection Order.

(c) Standard petition forms with instructions for completion shall be available upon request from the Court Clerk.

(d) A Protection Order does not preclude the rights of any party or child that are to be adjudicated at subsequent hearings in the proceeding.
