In all cases of seduction, except where the female seduced is over twenty-one (21) years of age, the father or mother, or any person acting in place of the father or mother, may maintain an action against the seducer. The commencement of a suit and recovery by judgment or by a settlement by one of such persons with the defendant shall be a bar to a suit brought by another.
