The abuse of parental authority is the subject of a civil action in the Tribal Court, brought by the child or by anyone on the child's behalf; and when the abuse is established, the child may be freed from the custody of the parent and the duty of support and education enforced.Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians Tribal Code.
