The proceeding to compel support by the father may be brought by the mother of it the child is or is likely to be a public charge, by the Tribal authorities charged with its support. After the death of the mother or in the case of her disability, it may also be brought by the child acting through it s guardian. If the proceeding is brought by Tribal authorities, the mother, if living, shall be made a party defendant.Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians Tribal Code.
