26.21.130 Tattooing of Children

(a) In this section:

(1) "Physician" is an individual who is licensed by any of the States of the United States of America as a physician with a valid license.

(2) "Tattoo" means to insert pigment under the surface of the skin of a person, by pricking with a needle or otherwise, so as to produce an indelible mark or figure through the skin.

(b) Subject to sub. (c), any person who tattoos or offers to tattoo a child is subject to a Class 1 Offense.

(c) Subsection (b) does not prohibit a physician from tattooing or offering to tattoo a child in the course of his or her professional practice.
