The National Indian Law Library (NILL) is the Native American Rights Fund’s law library and it is devoted to American Indian law. Library staff serve both NARF and the public by developing and making accessible a unique and valuable collection of Indian law resources and by providing direct research assistance and delivery of information.
Beyond the extensive materials that the library makes available on its website, the primary services it offers to the public are:
- Provide research assistance and delivery information relating to specific Indian law questions;
- Provide Indian law updates via the Indian Law Bulletins;
- Provide access to tribal law via the Tribal Law Gateway.
NARF staff provide Indian law-related research assistance via their askNILL online research service. Questions can be submitted at any time and responses are generally made within 3 business days. The library staff are not attorneys and cannot offer legal advice.
