For more than 30 years, the Native American Rights Fund’s Indigenous Peacemaking Initiative (IPI) has supported Tribal Nations and Native communities in implementing and revitalizing traditional dispute resolution practices—often called “Peacemaking.” Founded in 1992, IPI remains committed to strengthening Indigenous justice systems grounded in culture, community, and sovereignty.
We’re pleased to share a refreshed version of the IPI website.

While the core work hasn’t changed, the updated site offers a cleaner, more accessible space to explore IPI’s mission and resources. It continues to serve as a hub where Tribes can share peacemaking materials, access technical assistance, participate in trainings, and find advocacy support.
Visitors can also explore peacemaking news, events, publications, Tribal profiles, and models from communities across Indian Country—highlighting the many ways Indigenous justice systems are living, evolving, and thriving.
We invite you to visit the updated site and explore the tools and resources available to support Indigenous-led approaches to justice and healing.
A Hub for Peacemaking Resources
The IPI website continues to provide:
- Advocacy in support of Indigenous justice systems
