The goal of our Native American Voting Rights work is to protect Native voting rights and foster voter engagement in Native communities nationwide.
The website showcases a wide body of materials related to the census and redistricting, voter services, polling places on reservations, addressing and mail-in ballots, Section 203 and language assistance, Native American voting rights legislation, the Voting Rights Act, and Native voting litigation. Specifically, you can find:
- Our video series, Native Voices, Native Vote, which tells the stories of Native communities fighting for their lifeways and their right to vote and have their votes count.
- Resources related to our 2020 report, Obstacles at Every Turn: Barriers to Political Participation Faced by Native American Voters, which provides detailed evidence that Native people face obstacles at every turn in the electoral process: from registering to vote, to casting votes, to having votes counted.
- Voter resources that provide tools to help Native voters and Tribal Nations organize, advocate, and get out the vote.
