Since 1991, the Native American Rights Fund and the Western States Water Council (WSWC) have sponsored a biennial symposium to discuss the settlement of Indian reserved water rights claims.

The Western States Water Council (WSWC) and Native American Rights Fund (NARF) will cosponsor a virtual Symposium on the Settlement of Indian Reserved Water Rights claims on August 6, 2025.  Due to travel restrictions and other concerns, the symposium will be hosted through a web-based platform. Experts and participants from Tribal Nations, State governments, the Federal government, and other parties will address topics regarding completed and ongoing negotiated water rights settlements.

We expect another excellent conference and opportunity for collaborative engagement and education.  WSWC and NARF together have held successful symposia since 1991. Our abbreviated agenda will include presenters who have been involved in negotiated settlements representing Tribal, State, local, and federal governments, interest groups, congressional staff, and others. Continuing Legal Education Credit will be available for lawyers who attend.

For more information as it becomes available, see our websites at: http://www.westernstateswater.org and https://narf.org/water/.
