The Spirit Lake Tribe, the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians, and several individual voters challenged North Dakota’s 2021 legislative map, as unlawfully diluting Native American voting rights. The court agreed and ordered the state to adopt a legal map by December 2023.
